Abstract


Competition is a habit that must be introduced to students from an early age. By participating in the competition, students can recognize their potential, abilities, and impact on their social life. SMA Kolose De Britto has difficulties finding competent experts to guide its students in the computer competitions area. SMA Kolose De Britto cooperates with FTI UKDW to participate in some academic competition activities, one of them is Computer National Science Competition (KSN-K) 20222. The National Achievement Center of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia routinely holds KSN competitions. SMA Kolese De Britto and FTI UKDW have collaborated several times in KSN-K mentoring since 2019. In 2022, the KSN-K competition will be divided into C++ programming (Algorithm), Arithmetic, and Logic. The mentoring implementation method is carried out by applying a participatory learning approach in five stages: partners coordination, service teams' coordination, implementation of the activities, evaluation, and program sustainability coordination. The application of participatory learning is effective in supporting the implementation of activities. This approach can add insight to students in solving computational cases in the computer field. A survey of the material and teaching activities was carried out at the end of the mentoring. The survey results showed that the participant's response to the activity was excellent, with an average score of 8.44. It can be concluded that implementing the assistance can be said to be successful.
